Does anyone else get excited everytime a new firefox add-on comes out? Well, I do and I also know that installing and uninstalling various plugins takes a ton of time… (This is what I do for fun…just kidding) But I do like to look at plugins that increase productivity….

And here are the top 10 best firefox plugins for increasing your productivity..

1. Leechblock : Wasting too much time on twitter? Facebook? Stumble Upon? Leechblock is here to rescue you! Use leechblock to “block” you from visiting these websites during specific times of the day. (Most useful when you’re trying to get work done but just can’t beat the urge to check up what your friends are tweeting about)

2. Meetimer: Are you a serial procrastinator? Need to track where your time is actually going (which btw is a great technique to start taking back control of your time)..This little add on will show you exactly where you’ve ‘been’ all day. Perfect for starters.

3. URL Fixer : Tired of typing goggle.com? google.cmo? gogole.com? URL fixer does exactly what it says and takes care of typos for you.

4. Colorize Tabs: Too many tabs open for research? (or whatever other reason) and just can’t find the one tab you actually need? Spending too much time trying to find the right tab? Here’s your solution — this little add-on will allow you to colorize tabs so you can get back to it in a flash.

5. Tree Style Tabs: Too many tabs taking up too much room? Tired of clicking the more arrow to see all your tabs? Need sub-tabs? Here’s a solution…make your tabs appear like a folder tree. The nice thing is you can change where you see your tabs. You can set them on the sidebar and then choose how much space they take up. Gives you tons of flexibility and allows you to regain some screen space.

6. Evernote Clipper : I don’t think I could live without evernote…and I don’t think I could live without ever note clipper either. Need to save a page to read later? You can either save up the entire page or select portions of it to save, hit the clipper and evernote takes care of the rest. This is digital data capture at it’s best.

7. Greasemonkey: Greasemonkey is an add on that allows you to run several scripts on websites you visit to increase your productivity and efficiency.

8. No Squint : As some of you already know, I have terrible eyes and that means staring too long and hard on the monitor not only stresses my eyes but also gives me headaches and reduces my productivity. Thankfully, there’s no squint! An easy to use add on to increase font size on per-site basis. And yes, the point is it remembers your preferences for every site..

9. Your Favorite To do List Software’s Widget: Nothing keeps you more motivated than having a list of what you need to do right in front of you when you feel like procrastinating. And, the good news is firefox has addons for a ton of to do list sites like Remember the Milk, Todoist and so many more.

10. Gmail Manager: I’d be running around like crazy without this addon! Gmail Manager allows you to manage multiple gmail accounts easily. It saves me tons and tons and tons of time each and every day and seriously, I can’t imagine life without this little tool! If you have more than one gmail account, use this tool!

That’s it….Do you know of a firefox add-on that should be added to this list? Just leave your comments below and I’ll definitely check it out!

And yeah..do let me know if you liked the post..it took some time compiling (on a friday night too)!

Do you want to save some time?

…. who doesn’t?

If you’re looking to save time and you’re wondering how to get started or where to start…Here’s the 8 tools guaranteed to get you the results you’re looking for!

I use them day in and day out and find extremely valuable in saving time, getting stuff done and reducing stress.

I’ve personally spent tons and tons of research time coming up with these tools and this list so please do leave a comment if you like it.

1. Google Calendar

I love google calendar because of how simple, easy and yet highly effective it is. It’s fast to add new events, edit events (I love their drag and drop feature). You can also use different calendars for different goals (like: home and office) and see all your commitments in the same place. If you aren’t using google calendar yet, I highly recommend you check them out!

Just take 30 minutes and poke around with it. I think you’ll love it

2. Task Management System (ToDoIst)

I blogged about todoist last week (or maybe it was last month)…Anyhow, the point is…todoist is an extremely simple yet effective task management system..

Or simply put, it’s one of the best places to keep all your to do lists.

I use my google calendar for day specific and time specific stuff and my task management system for other to-do’s for the day or the week.

3. Cool Timer

Note: I don’t know what’s wrong with the software but apparently you get a virus warning on Vista…I use it on XP and it works fine for me. If you do get a virus warning, look for a different software

Cool timer is an excellent tool to use when you’re trying to focus and weed out distractions. I’ll usually set a timer for an hour, or thirty minutes when I try to get stuff done..

For example – If I need to write a blog post, I might set 10 minutes and get to work..

I think the timer works for two reasons:

1. Increases accountability – when you see the time ticking, there’s less room for procrastination..

2. Creates a healthy level of pressure or “challenge” so you can still get stuff done faster. And, save tons of time that would otherwise get wasted in procrastinating or trying to get something perfect..

4. Autohotkey

This is the most excellent tool there is when it comes to taking care of routine tasks (or chores) on the computer.

I won’t go into a ton of details about this one..instead I’ll link to the blog entry that’s all about hotkeys..(saving time is a good thing..isn’t it?)

Here’s the link

5. RSS Reader (From Google)

An RSS reader is an excellent way to save tons of time that you’d normally spend visiting different websites, blogs or news sites. There’s tons of RSS readers out there including things you can install on your computer…but being able to access your RSS reader from anywhere is definitely a big plus.

Basically the RSS reader will get the latest updates from all your favorite websites and queue it up for you to read when you login..That’s all you need to know..all the techy bits are handled by google reader!

Cool..eh?

Just take 20 minutes, visit your favorite sites and add their RSS feed into your Google Reader account.

And while you’re at it..here’s the link to our RSS feed…remember to sign up!

6. Google Hosted Apps

If you haven’t checked out google hosted apps, you’re missing out on quite a bit!

Basically, if you run a small business or an organization..google will let you use a lot of their services like email.

Which means you get to keep your professional looking email address and still use google’s spam fighter tools and (of course) you get all the other tools that other gmail users get.

Also look into Google Docs for sharing information..it’s FREE and highly efficient!

7. Evernote

Evernote can help you tons and tons of time when it comes to researching information and keeping a file of all the cool things that you’d like to read someday..

If you find a piece of really cool information..just highlight and click on the evernote tab on your browser (once you’ve installed evernote) and the information is clipped for you (with a link to the webpage) so you can easily find it when you need it later..

8. Mind Maps

Mind maps can save you tons of time when it comes to brainstorming and planning (and also outlining)..and for clearing your head

There are tons of mind mapping programs out there, I personally use ConceptDraw…its not cheap but I like it

You can play around with something free like bubbl.us or even your pen and paper to see if mindmapping works for you.

That’s it!

I use these 8 tools almost everyday and it saves me tons and tons of time…

..Do you have any tools to add to this list?

Just let me know!

I think I came across Steven K Scott’s Mentored by a Millionaire – Master Strategies of the Super Rich a couple months ago. Probably around January.

Why am I writing the review now? I think it’s worth it..

Mentored by a Millionaire is by far one of the BEST personal development programs I’ve listened to or read about. P.S. I did listen to the CD so this is a review of the audio program by Nightingale Conant.

Anyhow..here’s the good things about the book:

1. Steven Scott definitely knows how to get the point across. I loved his use of the Porsche analogy. Definitely thought out and used effectively. He also talks about his communication method in one of the lessons.

2. Ready to use Strategies - If you’ve read my ebook, you know I like action steps that get things done. Theory is good for some thought provoking deep thinking but I like stuff that helps me get things done where the rubber hits the road. The program introduces the theory and then gives you some strategies to implement right now. That alone sets it apart from a lot of personal development products.

Here’s what I like about the program

1. Challenging yourself – I’m big on this. I set goals that stretch me – not just a little but quite a bit. It could be my personality but I love a challenge especially when it seems impossible at first.

You’ve heard those jokes about engineers haven’t you?

The fastest way to get an engineer to solve a problem is to declare that the problem is unsolvable. No engineer can walk away from an unsolvable problem until it’s solved. No illness or distraction is sufficient to get the engineer off the case. These types of challenges quickly become personal — a battle between the engineer and the laws of nature.

But, I don’t think it’s just about engineers, in fact, I know engineers who HATE challenges. I think it’s more dependant on your personality than your profession. BTW, I don’t think either way is right or wrong..they are both probably right…but challenging myself is definitely something that works for me.

Find out what works for you and put it to work

2. Pretty Good Explanation of Life Skills

I liked the fact that each skill had a section of it’s own with tips to develop it. The book was definitely well planned out. There are also exercises for you to do at specific points – another good thing. Listening to something can be motivational but doesn’t change much if you don’t act on it. So, even little actions are good.

For those of you who struggle with memory, there’s a memory exercise to help you remember 20 random objects easily as well.

Then, there are more life changing exercises like finding the most important areas of your life so you can develop all of them at once..

3. The dream conversion process

This one is an important part of the program..very well thought out as well. It’s aimed at helping you take your dreams and take it all the way to what you’re going to do right now to get to your dreams. I can’t emphasize the importance of this thing enough.

My Recommendations:

If you’re looking for something to listen to, get this program. It may just change your life and point you in the right direction. I love it. I listen to various parts of it on a regular basis – always something valuable to pick up.

This one will be a 11/10
