Wise Words from the Web

I ran across a very good post by Clay (TheGrowingLife) today about what life hacking really is and I couldn’t agree better. Here’s some snippets from his blog post, remember to go read his actual post at Life Hack Misnomer:

When it comes to life, you have to do it yourself. There is no other way. Family, friends, and community are wonderful, but ultimately no one can live your life for you. You’re in the driver’s seat, even if you’re following someone else’s map. That’s just the deal.

You know that’s so true. You can read a million books about doing so and so but you’re not going to get any results until you actually start doing it. For the last few years in my business, I’ve been guilty for the exact same thing. Reading too much and not doing anything about it. Like Clay said even if you follow someone else’s map, you’ve got to start the car and steer the wheel.

Anti-hacks are non-technical hacks. They are inner-hacks.

Very interesting…I think that’s how life hacks work. Being a geek, I get very excited about new software or Firefox plug-ins all the time. Ooh..a new organizer..yay! and so on but I definitely agree with what Clay has to say. I rarely change my core organizers really. I have a filing system, couple notebooks and even though I try new software all the time (just for fun) it’s important not to get distracted by them. I’ve been guilty of this a million times!

I think you’ll like the post, go check it out.
