3 Tell Tale Signs that you’re overworked and Need a Break

Let’s face it, we, entrepreneurs are crazy bunch of people. We all get tons of ideas everyday and that’s all fine but the scary thing is, as entrepreneurs, we often get some of these amazing ideas and then we run with it! And the worst part is…we have terrible judgment when it comes to downtime.

Think about it, instead of laying around in a comfy couch on a Sunday afternoon, we lock ourselves in a room and we’re leading our team  (usually comprised of 2 people) into the battlefield…battling some unknown. On occasions when we do decide to socialize with our family members, we’re usually furiously typing away on our blackberries or even the laptop. No wonder we drive our families and ourselves insane.

Ever tried getting some work done in the TV room while watching a movie with your family? You were probably more stressed coming out of that than a surprise phone call with an angry investor.

The reason you are stressed is because you should be spending time with your family and you’re not doing that.

You see, the people around us are usually much better at measuring our stress level than us.. So the next time they ask you to calm down and stop working, you should stop yourself and check to see if you’re at the “Crazy entrepreneur” stage yet…

Here are 3 tell tale signs to look for:

1. You don’t remember a thing: We have all had bad days and locked our keys in the car but  frequently locking your key inside of it is usually a sign that you’re tired and stressed.  You need to take that break!

2. Everything around you is a mess: Alright, your business is doing great. You’re signing contracts nonstop but if you have no room to step inside your house and you need to go to the basement to look for a clean clothes, then it’s a sign, you need to take a break.

3. Your brain’s in an overdrive: An increase in concentration and ideas never hurt anybody but remember that every heightened stage should be followed by a downtime. Close your eyes and think about someone you love, if your brain is still running around like crazy then you need a break.
