Here’s a really personal question…What does your closet look like?
I’ll tell you mine is a complete mess! I know some people would call me an organization “freak” if they saw my desk but the same people might call me “The world’s most unorganized person” if they saw my closet. It’s such a big mess; I don’t even want to show you! (I did take a picture but I think it’s too embarrassing to share).
To make matters worse, here’s the law of closet that I’ve discovered this morning as I was trying to find something “good” to wear for a lunch with my Engineering Coach (jeans are acceptable engineering attire but hey, even jeans need “decent” T-shirt). My quest for a decent T-shirt this morning led to the discovery of the Closet Uncertainty principle (aka the closet law).
“You can never precisely determine both what you want to wear and where it is at the same time on any given time.”
As if trying to decide what you want to wear wasn’t hard enough, trying to find what you want to wear is an incredibly tough task (at least for me).
But, that’s all going to change. I’ve gathered some resources to help me change my closet habits (and I hope you’ll find them useful if you too struggle with closet organization to any degree).
How to De-clutter your Clothes
This is an incredible article to help you sort out all your clothes. I love the “This makes me feel good when I wear it” pile, I’m sure going to make one! While you’re there, you might also want to take a peek at Beryl’s blog. Her latest post offers an excellent (and affordable) solution for a common kitchen organization challenge. Check out her blog, I only discovered it today and I’m glad I did!
Tons of products to organize your closet here but if you think they’re expensive, don’t be scared to try out creative solutions. If you like wood work (or your spouse does) make it a summer project!
What are your best closet organization tips? I need as much help as I can get!
