How to get determined to achieve your goals

There’s tons and tons and tons of books out there on how to set goals, how to visualize and create powerful vision statemements..
But the truth for most people is…
They can create goals..but it’s sticking to the goals and being determined that’s killing them..
Perhaps you feel the same way..
You’ve read all about goal setting, gone to a seminar – got fired up and then…2 days later when the circus leaves the town..you’re back to square one…
It’s such a frustrating feeling and I felt it for the longest time and I HATED it…
I hated the yo-yo ride of motivation, absolute determination and confusion, vagueness and a sense of “Uh…what do I do now”..
So if you’re suffering from the same self help pandemic…i.e. the yo-yo ride between absolute determination and incredible frustration…here’s how to get rid of it..
Get determined to achieve your goals..
It might sound fancy at first but the concept is rather simple..
The reason we feel confused and frustrated when the self help books have been read, the seminar is finished and the motivation is gone….is because we don’t make it mandatory to achieve our goals..
Listen, if your goals are “nice to achieve”, “would be cool to do”….guess what? There just isn’t enough motivation for you to work your tail off to achieve those goals..
The beauty is..the minute you get determined to achieve your goals..everything sort of “falls in place”..procrastination is gone, frustration is gone, fear is gone..all that remains is you-your goals and your determination..
Isn’t that a great way to be?

Good post!!
I totally agree with you about losing motivation after a period of time. The solution I usually use to have my goals written down, and how and when I aim to achieve them. When I feel demotivated by my actions and start becoming negative, I look at my goals to remind myself to stay on track.
I know!! Easier said than done but it takes discipline and genuine hunger to reach those goals. See my new article on my goal setting model.

Hi Neil..
That’s exactly what I do too….
And…when I’m feeling completely demotivated, I’ll even draw my vision of the “big day” i.e. when my goals get realized…
Now, I’m a pretty rubbish artist but it does inspire me tons!
